So It’s been 6 Months – Have We Learnt Anything?

    Reflections

Back in May we packed up our home life in Perth, Australia and hit the road. It’s now November and we are celebrating, not only 6 months of exploration and discovery, but 200 days into our nomadic journey. I can tell you that in the last 200 days I have learnt copious amounts. And not only about my surroundings, but about myself. So where have we been for the last 200 days?

    Legoland Malaysia – Asia’s First & It’s a Winner!

    Johor, Malaysia

If there was ever a land to be picked to visit for me it wouldn’t have been Legoland. We don’t own Lego, I don’t build Lego, I never even dreamed of what a town made of Lego could be. But the idea of visiting this brand new theme park in Johor had me intrigued and on impulse we decided it would be worth the flight. AND BOY WAS IT!

There are 6 different themed lands that make up Legoland Malaysia. Here is my play by play for each one that we visited. Take the time to read if you plan on visiting with kids... That way you can form a plan of action!

Poo Calamity at Little Big Club

    Johor, Malaysia

It was hard work to find out about this place in Johor. There is no clear web presence, no signage on the way and well, i guess for a brand new theme park it has a long way to come. But I will always remember it as the day my 3 year old got stuck in the Thomas the Tank play area and had a toilet calamity.

Lost World Of Tambun: More Than a Theme Park

    Ipoh, Malaysia

Our verdict? Loved it! Perfect age for our kids. There was just the right amount of amusement rides and a great petting zoo. But all of that pales to the water play area for my children and they are still asking if we are going back today. Mia even asked if she can live there! For me, I loved the hot springs! And the Crystal Spa was to die for. My husband loved the majesty of the mountains and was in photographer’s heaven. We will be back!

  • Exploring the Cave of Gua Tempurung

Exploring the Cave of Gua Tempurung

    Ipoh, Malaysia

Before heading back to Penang we decided to visit Gua Tempurung in the Kinta Valley. Gua Tempurung is one of the larger cave systems found in the scenic limestone hills of Perak. It is the largest natural limestone structure in Peninsular Malaysia. While one can not undertake a 4 hour adventure with toddlers, you can still enjoy the wonders that exist in a 40 minute tour.

Lost in the Lost World of Tambun

    Ipoh, Malaysia

Read about our stay at the Lost World Hotel, our tour of the theme park and the best massage of my life. You probably won't want to miss the story of my son removing his clothes and bolting for the 50 foot lake before we could blink also.

  • Where To Eat In Penang

    Where To Eat In Penang

    Penang, Malaysia

During our stay in Penang, we have visited a number of places to eat. I found it so hard to choose the restaurants to eat out despite the number of alternative blogs, tripadvisor and Penang websites. So here is a list of the places we ate and you can decide for yourself, which places you, think you will enjoy the most.
