Palawan is at the top of my Philippines bucket list. When we were in the Philippines we only managed to get to Boracay, but we will be back. Big thanks to Carmela for making that day closer than we though.
Palawan’s pristine beauty brings people from all over the globe. Its white sand beaches, crystal clear waters, and more make up the surreal refinement of Palawan Island. Over the years, this island destination in the Philippines had become people’s favorite and is now a celebrated travel spot for both seaside parties and quiet retreats.
Whether it’s the serenity that you’re after or the island’s lively festivities, Palawan has everything that you need for your island excursion. Here are 5 awesome Palawan activities – things you can only do in Palawan and shouldn’t miss when you’re in this island paradise.
Go Kayaking in Banol Beach
Palawan’s main attraction are its waters. Therefore, heading to Palawan without hitting the beach would be a very sad thing to do. You just can’t journey to the island without experiencing what it is really renowned for. With over 50 beautiful beaches, you will never run out of spots to enjoy the waves and tides.
If you like to enjoy and explore at the same time, I suggest kayaking at Banol Beach in Coron! Crystal clear waters combined with an amazing view will make you want to stay in the water all day.

With great waters come rich marine life. Palawan’s crystal clear waters is also home to a wealth of aquatic resources. The African Safari… in the Philippines? Why not?
The Calauit Wildlife Safari Park in Coron will make your dream of seeing the African savannah come true. This 3,700 hectare of wildlife sanctuary is home to some exotic African animals, along with animal species endemic to Palawan. Other than giraffes and zebras, you may also find the Calamian deer, monkeys, freshwater crocodiles, pythons, waterbucks, and many others.
Explore Earth’s Brilliance in Subterranean River
One of the awesome Palawan activities you can take part in (and this probably is the most amazing) is the Puerto Princesa’s Underground River Tour. This world famous travel destination in Palawan is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On November 2011, this 8.2-kilometer long Underground River has been provisionally chosen as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
