The island is in the northern Indian Ocean just below India and yet seems to be a South Asian country rarely visited.
Sri Lanka is about to take off and you should visit before it does. Elephants, temples, delicious curries and genuine friendly people. You will not be disappointed.

I fly a lot, but never for fun. So this idea of a scenic flight didn’t really compute at first. But once I saw this amphibious plane I knew I was in for a thrilling scenic flight.
Hanging out the door of a moving train was never on my bucket list, but I suddenly realised how preposterous that had been. Everyone needs to hang out of a train at some point in their life.
The challenging climb to the top of the ultra scenic Sigiriya Rock was just the beginning of this adventure. It also involved monkeys and being shown up by an 80+ year old grandmother. But the killer wasps will be what I remember when I think about this beautiful Sri Lankan icon.
