Valen Dawson
What was the first country you visited? Who with and why did you choose it?
The first country I visited was Switzerland when I was 23. My grandmother who was of Swiss heritage had died and made me promise before she passed away that I would visit Switzerland. Little did I know that trip would make me fall in love with travel so much.
When did you start a travel lifestyle? What inspired that change?
I started a travel lifestyle a year ago. I was burned out on the sales job that I had for almost 15 years, and I knew that I had to do something different.
Do you have a base you travel from? Or is it continuous travel? And why do you choose that style?
I do a mix. I started out in Thailand, Indonesia and Sri Lanka, then I based myself out of San Miguel de Allende for about six months. I am currently in Europe for three months, and then I plan to base myself out of Thailand for a while and explore more of Asia.
How do you fund your travel lifestyle? Is it something you do when travelling or are you a saver?
I had money in savings before I took the leap. I also make money from my websites, my book: Dream Catcher-The Magic Of Living Your Dream Life, and through doing social media for businesses.
If you could tell yourself one tip before you started your travel lifestyle, what would it be?
Get rid of more stuff. You don't need it. It will only weigh you down.
What does "Living The Dream" mean to you?
Living the dream means following the call of my soul. It also means being in touch with myself, so I know what that means. It means living in joy and inspiring others to do so as well.
