Puerto Rico is actually an unincorporated territory of the United States, located in the northeastern Caribbean. Recent talks suggest the consideration of allowing it to become it's own country. Puerto Rico in Spanish means Rich Port, but the Puerto Ricans often call the island Borinquen, which means "Land of the Valiant Lord".
