When traveling we often forget about the things we may need to sustain our daily lives. There are so many gadgets out there with so many uses that we neglect to see how they can assist us in our travels. Many people tend to forget about the small necessities or gadgets that they use frequently when going on vacation or a trip somewhere. Today there are so many technical devices that are meant specifically for traveling. As the years go by there are more and more innovative gadgets available that help your journeys become easier and more practical. There are gadgets out there that will serve any need that you may have while you’re away from home, from smart luggage and suitcases to portable streaming devices. Here are a few necessities for anyone who is planning on traveling.

1. Rechargeable Batteries

We often forget about the most important thing that keeps our electronics working properly and that is batteries. Over time batteries die out and lose their power and this can be a great inconvenience for someone who isn’t able to go grab a new pack immediately. Rechargeable batteries have become a new way of keeping your devices powered without having to have extended amounts of extra batteries on hand.

While most devices use USB chargers, some of our devices still require physical batteries to work. Getting the eco-friendly rechargeable ones will reduce the negative impact on the environment by not having to throw them out when you’re done.

2. Gotenna & GPS Device

GoTenna is a smart device that allows you to go anywhere and connect anywhere. These are specially used for those who are out in the wilderness or camping and need to be able to get in contact with their groups. It turns your phone or other devices into programmable mobile infrastructure. You can stay connected to the world around you and your friends and family while you’re off the grid.

This device allows you to GPS where you are and need to go without using any network connection. You can also send and receive text messages with this device. It is waterproof and battery powered for up to 24 hours. This device is also great for anyone passing through terrible service areas and isn’t able to connect to networks. Take this device on your travels to always be in contact with the world when you aren’t able to.

3. Fire Stick

Any streaming device is needed for your travels. Wherever you may stay or visit, gadgets like the Amazon Fire Stick will work as long as you have an internet connection. If you are staying in a hotel and don’t want to pay for movies, you can easily plug in your device to the tv USB port and begin your normal streaming. This device is important to have for those who can’t live without their TV shows and movies or those who often stream a lot of online content.

The Fire Stick and other streaming devices are easy to use and give you access to large quantities of content. You have the opportunity to use different streaming apps and services like Netflix, Hulu, and many more. If you struggle with electronics, Troypoint gives you aids and how-tos when it comes to using and setting up these devices.

Other streaming devices good for travel:

  • Roku
  • Google Chromecast

4. Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker

For music lovers, having a portable bluetooth speaker is important in keeping your travel needs satisfied. Being able to hook up your phone or device to play any sounds you want whenever and wherever you want is ideal for anyone who enjoys music. Making sure the speaker is waterproof will grant you the peace of mind in knowing that your speaker will work regardless and will not suffer any water damage.

These are specially used for those who enjoy beach trips and are surrounded by water. Being able to play your favorite tunes while you relax on the beach is the most ideal thing for travelers. Maybe you want to take your music to the poolside. It won’t matter if you get splashed because your speaker system is waterproof.

5. Portable Solar Charger

Having your phone die when you’re not near a charger is devastating. It’s important to always have a backup charger but what if you can’t find a plug nearby? Having a portable solar charger will grant you the assurance of knowing you can charge your phone at any time or place.

This is essential for anytime you are away from home, and you will be thankful to have this when you are trapped somewhere and cannot get electricity. The solar panel on the device helps you charge your phone without having to plug it up to an electric source. This gadget is ideal for any kind of travels, from plane rides to road trips and camping trips.
