We've visited Israel with kids but I was always curious about the romantic side of this fascinating country.

If you’re in Israel on your honeymoon or just vacationing there as a couple there are plenty of romantic things to fill your day. Assuming you’re looking for ideas, there are a number of things that you should consider:

Take a stroll through the Wohl Rose Garden in Jerusalem

Considering a red rose is considered to be the ultimate symbol of love and passion, what better way to spend a romantic afternoon than by strolling through the Wohl Rose Garden in Jerusalem? As you walk along the path you’ll get to see over 400 different varieties of roses, and can pause at one of the secluded benches that are scattered throughout the gardens if you want a quiet moment to yourselves.

Visit the Dead Sea

Name aside, the Dead Sea is actually considered to be one of the most romantic spots in the world and couples flock to it year round. Needless to say you will want to dip into its waters and float almost weightlessly on the surface – but after that you can picnic on the beach, and take in the picturesque surroundings. It is a magical destination that you and your partner will undoubtedly both enjoy.

Relax and unwind at the Carmel Forest Spa just outside Haifa

Visiting a spa with your significant other is definitely a good idea – especially when that spa is ensconced in the middle of a beautiful forest reserve. That is exactly what you’ll find at the Carmel Forest Spa, a tranquil child-free setting that lets you completely relax. As a haven for couples, the spa offers a variety of packages that you can choose from and aside from getting a massage you can also visit its swimming pools, authentic Turkish bath, saunas, fitness rooms and tennis courts.

Grab a bottle of champagne and ride a hot air balloon at Kibbutz Ruhama

Located in Northern Negev, you can board a hot air balloon at Kibbutz Ruhama that will take you across acres of land containing fields of beautiful flowers, plantations and some historical landmarks. If you haven’t been on a romantic hot air balloon ride in the past then you’ll want to make it a point to do so, as there is something surreal about staring down at the breathtaking scenery while sipping on champagne as you float gently through the air.
