In an attempt to strengthen the borders of the Schengen zone a new European Travel Information and Authorization system, ETIAS is being implemented in 2021. I.e. non-EU travellers will for instance then require a ETIAS for Netherlands if they would like to visit the country. Once the ETIAS application is approved, visitors are then allowed to move across borders within the Schengen zone for up to 90 days.
