It is not a secret that I love to travel with my family. Embracing new experiences and making memories that will bond us forever. From exploring castles in Scotland, to venturing deep into the mines of Tombstone, to blasting through the Everglades on an airboat, we love the diversity of sights, sounds and flavours that travel has to offer.

What you may not know is that I spent three years dropping it like it’s hot on a competitive hip hop dance crew and have funded my travels by mixing up crafty cocktails as a certified bartender. Some nights at the bar are crazy and I feel like a bouncer - good thing as a mother I am no stranger to enforcing time outs!

If I have learned anything it is that life is an adventure, full of unexpected surprises, and travelling with an entourage of children and grandparents multiplies this exponentially.

Have you ever picked that item on the menu that sounded too weird not to try? I did in St. Pete Beach, Florida of all places when I ordered meatballs on a Caesar salad. As you can see, it looked bizarre, but it was oh so good.

I appreciate flavour combinations that surprise my palate, which is one of the reasons why I am excited about the new Brookside Yogurt Flavored Fruit & Nut Bars. Let me tell you, these things are a delightful surprise. Take the Cranberry, Blueberry With Citrus bar, which offers a muddled balance of zest, tart and sweet. My kids really like the tropical Mango Pineapple bar with crunchy roasted almonds and pumpkin seeds. It’s like a delicious marriage of summer and fall. The Vanilla Fig may not sound outrageous, but it is a crowd-pleaser. These new flavours complement Brookside’s Dark Chocolate Fruit & Nut Bars, which combines smooth dark chocolate with exotic fruit like blood orange, acai and pomegranate.

Another unexpected twist is that you can feel better about sharing these tasty bars with friends and family, because they are made with wholesome ingredients like fruit and nuts and are a good source of fibre. BROOKSIDE Yogurt Flavored Fruit & Nut Bars are gluten-free, non-GMO and contain no artificial flavours. Our days are very busy, especially while travelling, and we are always in need of a convenient snack. These creamy, chewy, crunchy bars are just what this mama-on-the-go needs to pick me up, but not slow me down.

Similar to Brookside Yogurt Flavored Fruit & Nut Bars, we are complex. Like an actor on stage, we play many roles in our daily life. I’m a travelling mum who dances to hip hop and bartends at a craft cocktail bar. Maybe you are a third grade teacher that plays with your band on the weekends or a scientist that is also an amazing athlete. These unexpected merging of interests are what make people exciting, just like the unexpected flavour combinations of Brookside Yogurt Flavored Fruit & Nut Bars.
