8 Ways The Holiday Inn Resort Bali Benoa Will Wow You

Bali, Indonesia By

What pops into your mind when you think of Bali? Is it the historic religious sites and cultural celebrations? Or stunning beaches offering ample activities for everyone in the family? The Holiday Inn Bali Benoa is the best of both worlds – offering the luxuries of a private beachside resort but with easy access to the island’s cultural hotspots and activities. Located south of Kuta on one of the island’s most beautiful beach fronts, there are a million reasons why this resort should be your family’s next getaway destination. Here are eight of the big ones.

1) Start the day off right with a tranquil yoga session.

To the sound of soothing ocean waves, find Pranayama and connect with both yourself and the tranquil vibes of Bali. The resort offers onsite classes with certified instructors, catering to yogis of all levels – even the newbies! Come see why yoga is such a big deal in Bali.

2) After class, walk the family down to those waves

The Bali Benoa’s guest rooms are literally steps from the Benoa Bay. Before jumping into the day’s activities, I recommend taking a stroll on the sand and letting your location really sink in. This is Bali! The island is a spiritual and cultural haven, and there’s no better way to set the mind right than by taking in a bit of the shoreline.

3) Treat the kids without leaving the resort.

The Holiday Inn Resort Bali Benoa has everything the family needs for a memorable adventure onsite, including a family-friendly waterpark area complete with a waterslide and tipping splash buckets that rival those found in the world’s top water parks.

The hotel also has what they like to call the Resort Centre. Here, the kiddos can occupy themselves with pool and air hockey, snacks and souvenirs for sale in the mini-mart, and a library area featuring everything from books to DVDs.

It’s nearly impossible to get bored here. For us, that’s saying a lot – my kids typically trek thru an entire resort within a couple hours of arrival.

4) Try your hand at fruit carving

You may not consider yourself an artist now, but you will after you’ve turned a seemingly ordinary watermelon into a masterpiece so beautiful that you can’t convince yourself to eat it. Can you out-carve the kids? We’ll leave the judging up to them.

5) Be sure to go on a few excursions, both on land and in the water

White water rafting in Bali will get the adrenaline flowing, and the same goes for jet skiing and surfing. For a more relaxing excursion, the front desk can set you up with a trip to a beach that is perfect for your family, whether that’s the trendy Kuta Beach, the scenic shores of Uluwatu, or the Limestone cliffs of Pandawa Beach.

Another option is to rent a bike and do a family ride around Nusa Dua. The area around the resort is stunningly beautiful, and seeing it in on two wheels ensures you’re moving at a pace that provides as much opportunity to take it all in as it does exercise.

6) Wind down with a full-service spa treatment.

All that excitement warrants a round of pampering for the adults, wouldn’t you say? The Bali Benoa has you covered. You may have heard about the wonders of the Balinese massage. The Resort’s Tea Tree Spa is THE place to experience it. Get your nails done, experience pampering in its truest form, and return to your room refreshed and ready for dinner.

7) The dining sets the mood for a perfect Bali evening

The Nudi Beach Bar & Restaurant, named for the lively sea creatures surrounding the island, is the stuff of dreams. Their famous seafood buffet is served alongside some of the best ocean views on the island. The resort also provides a taste of the islands, serving famous Indonesian dishes and rounding out the night at the resort’s romantic fire pit. Not a bad way to fall into island life!

8) The resort is your gateway to the island’s cultural heritage

The Balinese are extremely proud of the island’s cultural and religious heritage. Bali is dotted with historic Hindu sites, including the Tirta Empul temple where Hindus (and some non-Hindus) take part in a spring water cleanse.

The town of Ubud is the home of spiritual dances and performances nearly every night of the week. Taking one in after visiting the Tirta Empul is nothing short of an absolutely incredible experience. The hotel can arrange a trip for your family with stops at specific locations of interest, or hit all of the highlights. Don’t forget to check out the Rice Terrace Trekking, the kids will love walking along the paddies!
