Spain holds a unique charm and captivates visitors with its warm hospitality. We really enjoyed our road trip through Spain. Here's some helpful thoughts when considering your next vacation to Spain.

Family holidays are something everyone looks forward to. But taking your children abroad can be a struggle- in an unfamiliar environment children may be troublesome and you will need plenty of activities to keep them entertained. You might even want to escape from your children for a while to relax- which means that child care facilities are a must! If you are taking your children to Europe, don’t forget to renew your EHIC card, you can apply here to make sure you are protected against any medical costs. Spain is a popular destination for family holidays because it is affordable, has amazing weather and there is plenty to do for the whole family. These are the most child friendly parts of Spain.

Moraira

This resort is based in Costa Blanca and offers plenty of things to do for your children. There are two theme parks nearby- Aqualandia, which is a water park, and Terra Mitíca, which is a more traditional theme park with rollercoasters and rides. These massive theme parks will take at least a day each to explore. Moraira also has an abundance of beautiful beaches with clear turquoise seas, perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

Barcelona

Despite being known as a destination for culture and nightlife, Barcelona has plenty to offer children. Again there are plenty of theme parks to keep children amused, lots of museums with child friendly and interactive exhibits and lots of clean, safe beaches. There is even a chocolate museum! Don’t be afraid to take the children for a grown up’s meal out either, restaurants in the city will welcome children of all ages.

Canary Islands

The Canary Islands are a popular holiday destination for tourists of all ages. The reason for this is because there are a huge variety of resorts available to cater to everyone’s interests- from golfing to water sports. These resorts are ideal for people with children of all ages because they offer specialist children’s swimming pools, organised activities and even crèche facilities. This will keep your children entertained all day every day, which will make the holiday more enjoyable for everyone.

Torremolinos

Torremolinos used to be a destination known for its lively nightlife and was very popular with young people. It is now a popular family destination, thanks to the sandy beaches and many public parks with fun activities like mini golf and rowing boat hire to enjoy. There are several theme parks and attractions near Torremolinos including Aqualand, a Sea Life centre and the Crocodile Park, which is a zoo dedicated to reptiles. There is something to do for all the family- a visit to the botanic garden will introduce you to lots of exotic plants and wildlife or you could enjoy an equestrian show run by some of the most talented horse trainers in Europe.  The only downside is that the local tapas restaurants may not be geared up to catering for children, so don’t expect to find child friendly menu’s in every restaurant. However, choosing an all-inclusive resort is always a good option.
