We did a lot in Florida, but from the look of this post there is still much more to do. We didn't even cover the theme parks, let alone some of these other things. Well except that Swamp ride, we did that!
Anyone with kids will know how magical Florida can be. Home to Orlando and all that it entails, it’s quite simply where the magic never ends and everyone should try and visit at least once in their lifetime. As more and more attractions and theme parks are added, the magic grows and grows and, nowadays, you really are spoilt for choice. In fact, last minute Florida holidays for a week or two is often not enough to appreciate everything, so you have to try and choose the itinerary fillers to suit your preferences.
Nicknamed ‘the City Beautiful’, it’s probably more famous for the volume of theme parks it holds, ranging from Walt Disney’s classics to newer creations. Take a look at these awesome options to include in your family holiday of a lifetime and remember to take your camera – you’ll need it to capture the inane grins on everyone’s faces!
Walt Disney World
No list of Orlando itineraries would be complete without a visit to Walt Disney World. With its notorious Magic Kingdom and umpteen character meet and greets available, your kids will be in their element here. Also home to Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, you will be able to fill a week’s holiday with just this if you wanted!
Busch Gardens
It may be a little further away, located in Tampa Bay, but it’s well worth a day trip anyway. African themed and jam-packed with over 2700 animals as well as some thrilling attractions including SheiKra – a vertical dive coaster and Cheetah Hunt – a triple launch roller coaster.
Islands of Adventure
Part of an expansion of Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure is home to some incredibly thrilling rides, perfect for the adrenaline junkies in your group. With seven ‘islands’ to explore, including the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and the Marvel Super Hero Island, you can enjoy rides such as the Incredible Hulk coaster and the Pteranodon Flyers as well as child-friendly attractions to keep the young and less daring entertained.
Everglades Swamps
A tour of Florida would be incomplete without checking out some of those toothy giant Alligators. Get a noisy airboat ride through the swamp lands to spot them in their natural habitat and just hope they aren't too hungry the day you visit.
With SeaWorld, Wet ‘n’ Wild, Blizzard Beach and the new Legoland amusement park available too, you can be sure to have a fun-filled and unforgettable family break in Florida.
