37 Luxurious Reasons To Stay At Hotel Dubrovnik Palace

Croatia By

During a recent weekend trip to Dubrovnik, Croatia we fell in love. We were already starting to fall for the beautiful country of Croatia over the last few weeks, and Dubrovnik sealed the deal.

Our rather smart hotel choice was one of the crucial reasons we were wooed almost hypnotically by Dubrovnik. If you are struggling to find one good reason to spend your next family vacation at a 5 star hotel then let us help you. We discovered there were more than just a couple reasons why you should consider Dubrovnik Hotel Palace. In fact, I found 37:

1) Panoramic Views

Unmatched views in all directions from the moment you enter the hotel’s front doors to your room, from the pool or the tennis courts. Large windows and spacious balconies provide ample views of the mountains meeting the sea. Gorgeous!

2) Unbelievable sunsets

The sunsets in Croatia have been some of the best we have experienced anywhere in the world. Night after night the sky blazes with blushing pink and vibrant amber and magical marigold as the sun slips into the silky smooth blue sea. The hotel is perfectly situated, facing west to take advantage of nature’s nightly spectacle.

3) Outdoor Infinity Pool

There’s not much better than swimming in a perfectly heated swimming pool that seems to stretch off into the sea. Except…

4) Swim Up Pool Bar

…Except with a cocktail in hand. Cocktail of the day was only US$7.50. Add to this #2 (sunsets) and #1 (panoramic views) and it’s a match made in heaven.

5) Kids Pool

Outdoors you will also find a shallow kids pool. Perfect depth and size for little ones to enjoy the water without parents having to hold onto little hands the whole time.  Oh, and it has spectacular views of the sea.

6) Towels

No fiddly sign out system, no deposit, just grab your pretty blue towels and head to the pool. Easy.

7) Sun Lounges

Plenty of sun lounges and umbrellas surround the pools, which means it isn’t necessary to wake up at 7am to claim your prime spot.

8) Outdoor Seating By Pool

There is a gorgeous sunny spot to enjoy a drink and snack near the outdoor swimming pool, overlooking the sea and the sunset.

9) Beach Access

Down the stairs, beside the pool, you can get direct access to the sea. If the heated pool doesn’t do it for you then take a deep breath and jump into the cool, refreshing Adriatic Sea.

10) Indoor Pool

Perhaps the sun and the wind is not your thing, then that’s okay because indoors also features it’s own beautiful pool. Oh, and it has spectacular views of the sea.

11) Jacuzzi

Inside you have the option of two jacuzzis or you can head outside and there is a toasty warm one there too. Bubbling away in one of these is the best approach to experience the lingering twilight.

12) Sauna

No luxury hotel in Europe is complete without a sauna.

13) Water Dispenser

Inside the indoor pool area is a free water dispenser. Love that! Conveniently located near the sauna when it’s needed most.

14) Spa & Wellness Centre

Nothing says luxury more than a relaxing day spa and this one comes complete with a real Luxury Suite for when you’re ready to indulge.

15) Hairdresser

With so many ways to spend your day at the resort, you might as well stay in and get your hair done as well.

16) Gym

This fully equipped gym is sure to inspire even the laziest of holiday travellers. Oh, and it has spectacular views of the sea.

17) Tennis Court

Time for a little fresh air and exercise? Then it’s only a few steps to the outdoor tennis court and work up a sweat. Oh, and it has spectacular views of the sea.

18) Diving Centre

On the lowest floor you will find a Diving Centre and, with easy access to the beach, the diving can all be facilitated with local experts literally on your doorstep.

19) Art

Thoughtfully designated art decorates the halls and passageways. It’s curious, but fits the hotel’s seaside theme delightfully.

20) Bus Station

Opposite the hotel is the most convenient bus station we’ve ever seen that will take you directly to Pile Gate, the western entrance to the Old City of Dubrovnik. Bus number #4 comes every 20 minutes and you can buy tickets from the hotel reception or on the bus.

21) ATM

Directly outside the front entrance you will find an ATM that accepts all major cards, which we used and found very handy.

22) Post Box

Ever wandered around on holidays looking for a place to post those postcards to friends and family? Well, opposite the hotel, next to the bus stop is a very handy yellow post box literally a stone’s throw away from the hotel’s front doors.

23) Parking

There is plenty of free parking immediately outside the hotel, or if it’s a busy season they offer a parking garage.

24) Valet

If you are not confident enough to enter the parking garage (since driving on the right side of the road is crazy!) then the friendly valet at the front door is more than happy to park your car. The keys will then be waiting at the front desk for you, where you can pick up and drive the car out yourself or have them bring it around for you.

25) Elevators

We loved that there were 4 lifts so the downtime spent waiting for a lift to arrive was virtually non-existent. Just press and go.

26) Massive Suites

The real reason we came. They offer the perfect family layout. 2 large bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms, separated by a generous sized living room complete with dining table. There was enough space to swing a cat. I even tried it. Nah, not really. I swung my son around by his leg instead.

27) Comfy Beds

Super plush beds. Can I stay? Like, forever?

28) Lancôme Bathroom Products

You may or may not be forgiven for taking these quality bathroom products home as a souvenir.

29) Mini Bar

You are not likely to run out of anything with the ample size of this minibar. All the drinks are lovingly laid out so you can easily see what’s on offer.

30) TV Welcome Screen

With 3 TVs in our suite there’s was no arguing about what to watch. One in each room. and all of them with a personalised welcome sign. A very welcoming touch.

31) Robes and Slippers

Who loves fluffy robes and slippers? We do! And so do our kids.

32) Balcony

Super spacious balcony with phenomenal sea views of course. Enough space to hold a party. All that is missing is a barbeque!  And some snags (that means “sausages” in Australian).

33) Chocolate

Daily turn down service includes closing all the blinds, getting the bed ready and a chocolate on the pillow. Nice chocolate too! In fact, this should probably be #1 on the list. What was I thinking?

34) Personalised Service

From the front desk to the restaurant to the bar staff by the pool, we experienced nothing but helpful advice and friendly smiles.

35) Breakfast Buffet

A wide variety of options from fresh fruit, pastries, pancakes, cereals, cold meats and cheeses, hot food and an egg station (mmm.. fresh omelette).

Eggs any way you like it

36) Restaurants

There are a number of restaurants onsite so you don’t have to head out to eat if you don’t wish to. Oh, and they all have spectacular views of the sea.

37) Health Food

And one of those restaurants is the health joint on the top floor offering fresh smoothies and mouth-watering low calorie meals.

This place has it all – sport, health, pampering, relaxation and just pure luxury. Now if those aren’t enough reasons for you to want to head to Dubrovnik and book a weekend at the Hotel Dubrovnik Palace, then I don’t know what is. If you can think of any, add your comment below Smile
